New Patient Access
May 16, 2017

We’ve made great strides in new patient access, but we shouldn’t be complacent. The year-to-date 5-day access stands at 38.9%, which is the highest in the modern history of the Department.  Five-day access is up 3.8% from last year and up 10.3% from 2 years ago.  Community physicians have commented on the noticeable improvements in new patient access.

Our largest gains have been in Infectious Diseases, Neurology, Pulmonology, Allergy, and Rheumatology.  Additionally, our new patient no-show rate is down 2.9%, resulting in more than 1000 additional completed visits each year.

See the Making MOC Easy section if you think you might qualify for MOC Part 4 credit for your work on new-patient access.
