Welcome to the Department of Pediatrics administration homepage. We support our core missions of patient care, research, education, and advocacy for 17 divisions and 3 centers. The department has more than 240 faculty with primary appointments in Pediatrics, 147 residents and postdoctoral fellows, and approximately 250 staff, all dedicated to promoting healthier and happier lives for children. In the past year, more than 190,000 children were seen in our clinics, and our faculty cared for more than 14,000 children who were admitted to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. Our department has a vibrant research portfolio in excess of $30 million in annual extramural funding, including seven NIH training grants. We strive to provide optimal customer service in the areas of administration and finance, including the revenue cycle and pre and post award grant management, human resources, IT and network LAN support, facilities, and much more. Our team also provides oversight for the strategic planning, program development, and the budgetary and forecasting needs of the department for our clinical, research, and academic operations.

Our Guiding Principles

  • Optimal customer service
  • Quality information and effective systems
  • Value added
  • Continuous improvement
  • Leadership
  • Mutual respect and trust

Every member of our team is responsible for our success. We invite you to use this section as a resource to learn about the department and the services we provide.
