Welcome to the Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. This program is directed towards the development of strong pediatric pulmonologists, who are not only excellent clinicians, but dedicated educators, researchers, and leaders in the field of pediatric pulmonary medicine.
To develop the next generation of pediatric pulmonologists requires high commitment not only by the trainee, but the training institution as well. It is in this commitment to strive for academic and individual excellence that sets the field of pediatric pulmonology apart. To that end, our fellowship program annually seeks highly rated pediatric resident and pediatricians to join our cohesive group of existing fellows in these endeavors of excellence.
Our university-based program is designed to provide an outstanding clinical experience through our faculty’s broad range of clinical and research interests, as well as our very large area of referral which includes all of Middle Tennessee, large portions of Northern Alabama, and Southern Kentucky.
Our division’s faculty has a wide array of interests including: cystic fibrosis, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, rare/interstitial lung diseases, complex aerodigestive cases, and BPD. It is because of this broad range of interest that we are able to mentor and foster creativity in research and patient care for our trainees. Our training program accepts one fellow per year.
