WoelfelAmanda Adkins, M.D.

Medical School: Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine
College: University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
Hometown: Gastonia, North Carolina

Amanda was born in Huntington, West Virginia, but was raised in Gastonia, North Carolina, west of Charlotte. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned a major in Political Science and minors in Chemistry and Spanish. Upon graduation, Amanda returned to wild, wonderful West Virginia to attend the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine where she met her husband, Brian Adkins. Brian will be an intern in the Pathology Department at Vanderbilt. They enjoy jogging in the park, cooking new recipes, and listening to live music! They do not have any pets, but Amanda is still trying to convince her atopic husband to get a hypoallergenic puppy! They’re excited about living in Music City, and beginning their training in Pediatrics and Pathology at Vanderbilt.

BerveridgeStockton Beveridge, M.D.

Stockton is a born and raised Nashvillian, where he was the second of four children. After high school in Nashville, he went to The University of Virginia where he pursued a Religious Studies major and played club lacrosse. After four great years, he bounced down to Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for medical school. Stockton enjoys 90's music, pickup basketball, and fly fishing with his girlfriend. He's looking forward to getting back home and starting up at Vandy!

chaseJulie Chase, M.D., Ph.D.

College: University of New Mexico
Hometown: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Julie was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but considers the beautiful desert of Albuquerque, New Mexico her true home. She attended the University of New Mexico for her undergraduate education, receiving degrees in Biology and Chemistry. After graduation, she worked for several years as a laboratory technician in materials science at Sandia National Labs before taking the plunge and moving back to the Midwest for graduate school. She then earned her Ph.D. in Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis where she studied NK cell biology. In graduate school, she was exposed to the exciting world of clinical medicine, and she knew she wanted to care for patients, leading her to complete her medical degree at the University of Missouri (Mizzou). She is very excited to begin this next stage of her training at Vanderbilt, and can't wait to explore all of the restaurants and live music that Nashville has to offer, as well as hoping to take in the natural beauty of the Tennessee countryside and hike in the Great Smoky Mountains!

Amanda ClarkAmanda Clark, M.D.

College: Yale University
Hometown: Portland, Tennessee

Amanda grew in Portland, Tennessee, a small town north of Nashville. She headed off to the northeast for college at Yale University where she majored in Latin American Studies. After college, she wasn’t quite ready to give up the snow and traffic jams, so she stayed up north for medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. Now, Amanda is excited to be back in Tennessee where she will be able to spend more time with her family and enjoy all the great things Nashville has to offer. In her free time, Amanda enjoys cross-stitching and gardening, and she firmly believes that there’s no food better than homegrown Tennessee tomatoes. 

FritzCristin Fritz, M.D., M.P.H.

Medical School: Vanderbilt University School of Medicine
College: Washington and Lee University
Hometown: Beaumont, Texas

Cristin was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas as the oldest of five kids. She left Texas for college at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia where she studied Biology and Poverty. Cristin moved to Nashville for medical school at Vanderbilt and quickly came to love the city of Nashville, her classmates, and the faculty.  She also completed a global-health focused Master of Public Health at Vanderbilt during medical school. Early in her first year of med school, she met Ryan Fritz, and the rest was history. They were married shortly after her medical school graduation. Ryan is currently an Emergency Medicine resident at Vanderbilt. Outside of the hospital, Cristin enjoys running, yoga, spending time outside, college football, live music, dancing, good wine, and trying new restaurants and new recipes. Cristin and Ryan are thrilled for another three years in Nashville, and Cristin looks forward to joining the Vandy Peds family. 

gregoryKelsey Gregory, M.D.

Hometown: Henderson, Kentucky

Kelsey was born and raised in Henderson, Kentucky. She attended Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky where she received a B.S. in Biology. Kelsey earned her medical degree at the University of Louisville. While she loved living in Louisville for four years, Kelsey will always be a diehard Kentucky Wildcats fan. Go Cats! When she's not cheering on UK or the Seattle Seahawks, she can be found trying out local restaurants or enjoying live music. Kelsey also loves to travel and spent a month backpacking through Europe before settling down in Nashville with her cat, Mango. She is looking forward to exploring Music City!

HillsBrittney Hills, M.D.

Medical School: Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons
College: Spelman College
Hometown: Rochester, New York

Brittney was born and raised in Rochester, New York, but the South called her name when she decided to go to Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Eventually Atlanta called her family too, as they relocated to Atlanta her sophomore year. Brittney finished her undergraduate degree majoring in Biology at Spelman. During her time at Spelman, Brittney enjoyed putting on special events including helping with homecoming's coronation as well as the Miss Spelman tea. After college, she decided to head back north for medical school where she attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Brittney loves spending time with her large extended family (more than 25 cousins and 60 second cousins on her mom's side alone!), reading, exploring new restaurants, as well as baking. She is excited to be just a car ride away from home and to explore a brand new city.

KleimanSarah Kleiman, M.D.

Medical School: Indiana University School of Medicine

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana

Sarah is a born and raised Hoosier fan originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. After spending her undergraduate career in Bloomington, Sarah attended Indiana University School of Medicine. She is beyond excited to start her dream residency at Vanderbilt University and hopes to pursue a career in pediatric endocrinology. She enjoys arts and crafting, any vacation that involves the beach, Netflix binges, and time spent with friends, family, and her puppy, Milo. Sarah fell in love with Nashville years ago and cannot wait to spend her time enjoying good food, live music, honkytonks, and helping the kids at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

LatuskaRich Latuska, M.D.

College: Notre Dame
Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Richard (“Rich”) grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as the middle child of seven children in his family. He went to Notre Dame for college, majoring in premedical studies and psychology before attending Vanderbilt for medical school. Rich enjoys playing soccer, tennis, racquetball, and volleyball and other outdoor activities including snowboarding/skiing and kayaking. He loves traveling to new places, and has been to Europe, China, and South America. Rich’s favorite trip so far has been hiking Patagonia in the fall of his fourth year of med school before Peds interview season began. He also recently became a father to a French bulldog named Bruce who loves sleeping on laps and snoring. There are so many things Rich loves about Nashville and Vanderbilt (the people, weather, food, etc.) that led to his decision to stay for the next three years and train at Monroe Carell Jr Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Hometown: Corpus Christi, Texas

Marina was born in Brooklyn, New York, but quickly made her way down to Corpus Christi, Texas where she grew up with her three goofball younger sisters. She attended college in Houston at Rice University (Rice Fight Never Die!) where she majored in biology and minored in sociology. After college, Marina braved the move across the street and attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. Marina has an interest in pediatric emergency medicine and is SO excited to train in Nashville. In her free time, she enjoys eating, stalking her friends' baby photos on Facebook, corny puns, tennis, ukulele, traveling, cooking, and making new friends.

McEachernWilliam McEachern, M.D.

Medical School: Tulane University School of Medicine
College: Princeton University
Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina

William grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina where he met his high school sweetheart and now wife, Ashley. He had to lock her down early before she realized that better options were available. William graduated from Princeton with a degree in economics, and a personal vow to never again live outside of the South. For three years prior to medical school, he taught and coached at two different secondary schools, including one year at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville. William and Ashley have enjoyed four great years in New Orleans where William completed the MD/MPH program at Tulane and Ashley got her MPH there. Together, they explored the city's incredible music and food scenes.

In his free time, William enjoys playing basketball and tennis, and recently has become a novice triathlete. Long term, he hopes to pursue a fellowship in pediatric cardiology. He is greatly excited about both joining Vanderbilt's pediatric residency program and reconnecting with the city of Nashville.

MeisterRustin Meister, M.D.

Medical School: Southern Illinois University School of Medicine
College: University of Illinois
Hometown: Urbana, Illinois

Rustin is originally from Urbana, Illinois. He received his undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Nutrition at the University of Illinois. Although the Illini continue to break his heart, he stays a fan (still hanging on to that 2005 NCAA run).  After attending medical school in Springfield, Illinois, Rustin is very excited to come to the friendlier, warmer south for a change!  His medical interests include education and possibly sub-specializing. Outside of pediatrics, Rustin enjoys playing basketball and soccer, socializing, outdoor activities, eating food, watching sports and live music. Rustin is happy to be joining the Vanderbilt pediatric family and making this move with his NICU nurse girlfriend!

MillerMichael Miller, M.D., Ph.D.

Medical School: University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine
College: Vanderbilt University
Hometown: Chattanooga, Tennessee

Michael was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. While attending high school there, he met his love and future wife, Lindsay. Together they traveled to Nashville where Michael received his BS in Biology from Vanderbilt. The two traveled to Iowa where Michael enrolled in the University of Iowa Medical Scientist Training Program. He received his Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology & Biophysics studying cancer biology. During this time, he and his wife were blessed with their daughter, Margaret. During his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, cycling, and doing anything active outdoors. Lindsay and Michael are beyond excited to be able to return to Nashville and experience the warm weather, the amazing food scene, and be able to root for the Commodores again at live events.

MoenAnna Kate Moen, M.D.

Medical School: University of Mississippi School of Medicine
College: University of Texas
Hometown: Keller, Texas

Anna Kate is a native Texan and completed her undergraduate degree in Human Biology with a minor in Social Inequality, Health and Policy from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em!). Coming from a long line of Ole Miss Rebels, Anna Kate decided to continue the family tradition and graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. Throughout her collegiate and medical training, Anna Kate discovered an interest in global health and has been on several medical mission trips to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Panama. She is excited to be in Nashville and continue her tour of southern schools at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. In her spare time, you’ll find her eating hot chicken and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, watching the Nashville Predators, and exploring the local music scene.

NeblettDavid Neblett, M.D.

Medical School: Vanderbilt University School of Medicine
College: Rhodes College
Hometown: Nashville, Tennessee

David was born in Cincinnati, but grew up in Nashville. For college, he went three hours west to Memphis to attend Rhodes College. After college, he moved back to Nashville and taught high school science for eight years before transitioning to a career in medicine.  It was during that time that he met his future wife, Alison, and they were married in 2009.  In the fall 2011, David left teaching to enroll in medical school at Vanderbilt. In August 2012, David and Alison welcomed their first daughter Sophie, and in October 2014 added daughter number two, Lindsey. Free time is sparse these days, but David loves being a dad and husband.  Beyond that, David enjoys attending Vandy athletic events, trying to stay active, and being outdoors, when opportunities arise. The Neblett family is thrilled to be a part of the great Peds program at Vandy and thankful for the opportunity to serve the great city of Nashville!

RobertsRachel Roberts, M.D.

Hometown: Huntington, West Virginia

Rachel was born and raised in West Virginia. She attended Marshall University for college where she earned a degree in biomedical science. She and her wonderful husband, Kyle, were married just after her graduation, and they moved together to North Carolina where she attended Wake Forest School of Medicine. In her free time, Rachel enjoys reading, playing the piano, and running. She is interested in general pediatrics, and is thrilled to begin her career at Vanderbilt.

SaxtonGrant Saxton, M.D.

College: Mississippi College
Hometown: Madison, Mississippi

Grant was raised in Madison, Mississippi with one older brother.  He attended the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville, Tennessee every year as a child, and had always felt a connection to Nashville. He majored in biology at Mississippi College where he met his future spouse (now wife). He attended the University of Mississippi for medical school and continued to enjoy pediatrics as a career choice. Grant is very excited about training at Vanderbilt and everything Nashville has to offer. During free time, Grant finds every chance he can to play ultimate frisbee. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, great restaurants, and most things outdoors including biking and running.

ShultzKatie Schultz, M.D.

College: University of New Mexico
Hometown: Deming, New Mexico

Katie was born and raised in Deming, a small town in southern New Mexico. She is the proud aunt of eight beautiful nieces and nephews, who inspired her to go into pediatrics. Katie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of New Mexico. She stayed in Albuquerque to attend the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, where she completed a teaching fellowship and helped change the curriculum to incorporate more training on patients with disabilities. Katie is an avid baker and cook, loving to develop her own recipes and share them. She has been swing dancing for eight years, has traveled both nationally and internationally to dance, and continues to love social dancing. In her spare time, Katie also loves doing yoga, running while listening to audiobooks, and playing with her dog. Katie is excited to be moving to Nashville for the next step of her training, and thrilled to begin her career as a pediatrician at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. 

ShahRahul Shah, M.D.

Medical School: University of Pittsburgh
College: Johns Hopkins University
Hometown: Monmouth Junction, New Jersey

Rahul grew up in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey.  He did his undergraduate and graduate education at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended medical school at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He has a feeling that his new life in Tennessee will come with a lot more sunshine than he’s used to up north. Rahul has two favorite things in life: heavy metal music and backpacking. They say Nashville is "Music City," and he plans to find out if that title extends beyond the area's country music roots. Rahul couples matched with his “better half,” Alana Gilman, who is going to be a Med-Peds resident here. Alana and Rahul hope to join the 900-miler club by hiking every trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park by the time they finish training. He could not be more thrilled to join the pediatrics team at Vanderbilt, and he knows he’ll get excellent training to help him pursue his career interests in pediatric emergency medicine, wilderness medicine, and patient safety. 

SivasubramaniamPriya Sivasubramaniam, M.D.

Hometown: Charlotte, North Carolina

Priya was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, along with her two younger twin brothers. She attended Vanderbilt University for both her undergraduate and medical school years, and is excited to be continuing her stay in Nashville for residency. In her free time, Priya enjoys singing and exploring the music scene in Nashville, watching the Carolina Panthers, trying new foods, and traveling. She is excited to begin her career in pediatrics at Vanderbilt! 

SternadLindsay Sternad, M.D.

Hometown: Norcross, Georgia

Lindsay was born in Connecticut, but raised in Norcross, Georgia. She made her way up to Baltimore to study creative writing at Johns Hopkins for undergrad and returned to Georgia to attend medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. Lindsay is excited to be joining the Vanderbilt family, exploring Nashville, and finally having an SEC team to root for! In her free time, Lindsay enjoys reading, watching trashy reality TV shows, cheering for the Braves and Falcons, shopping, and finding good places to eat. She is planning on pursuing a career in neonatology.

Jennifer WagnerJennifer Wagner, M.D.

Medical School: Texas Tech University School of Medicine
College: Harding University
Hometown: Rochester, New York

Jennifer grew up in Rochester, New York. (There’s a whole state up there besides the big city, y’all!) Although she has enjoyed skiing since the age of four, her search for more sunshine and shorter winters brought her south to Arkansas where she earned a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Harding University. Jennifer then went to medical school at Texas Tech where she experienced the friendly West Texan culture and dry climates of Lubbock and Amarillo. Jennifer is excited to be moving back east to a beautiful city with hills, trees, and water! She enjoys hiking, biking, and many other outdoor activities. Jennifer also likes going to concerts and musicals, and is ready to take advantage of all the fun things to do in Music City. She considers herself a Northern transplant, although you’ll have to judge for yourself whether she has an accent and which one it is! Jennifer is thankful for the wonderful opportunity to train at Vanderbilt, and is looking forward to serving children and their families in Nashville!

CumminsShannon Walker, M.D.

Hometown: Lawrenceville, Georgia

Shannon was raised outside of Atlanta, Georgia. After high school, she attended college at the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!), obtaining degress in both Biology and Microbiology with a minor in Italian. Shannon then moved north to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for medical school at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She enjoys sewing quilts and clothes, eating delicious food, and watching college football! Shannon also enjoys outdoorsy things like running, biking, and hiking. She is newly married to her husband Lonny, and together with their cat, Aria, she can’t wait to join the Vanderbilt community. They’re looking forward to being newlyweds in Nashville and exploring Music City!

WilliamsAlicia Williams, M.D.

Medical School: University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences
College: University of Toledo
Hometown: Clyde, Ohio

Alicia was born in Columbus, Ohio, but grew up in a small town in Northwest Ohio with her younger sister and her parents. Deciding to stay in Ohio for undergrad, she attended Kent State University for a year participating as a college athlete on the Women's Track team. After a year, she decided to transfer closer to home and finished her undergrad at The University of Toledo where she received her B.S. in Exercise Science. She stayed in Toledo for the next four years to complete her medical education as well as pursuing global health interests including a rotation in Manila, Philippines. Ready for a change in scenery, Alicia is excited to be training at Vanderbilt in Pediatrics and exploring all that the beautiful city of Nashville has to offer!  Outside of the hospital, Alicia enjoys spending time doing yoga, running, hiking, cheering on Buckeye football (National Champs!!), traveling, and playing with her puppy, Rosie!
