Barkin Elected Vice President of Society for Pediatric Research

Shari Barkin, M.D., M.S.H.S., the William K. Warren Foundation Professor of Pediatrics and director of the Division of General Pediatrics, has been elected vice president of the Society for Pediatric Research (SPR) with a succession to SPR Presidency.
"This is an outstanding accomplishment and a wonderful and well deserved opportunity for Shari," said Steven Webber, MBChB, MRCP, the James C. Overall Professor and chair of the Department of Pediatrics.
The Society for Pediatric Research supports innovative research and career development by providing a forum for the interchange of ideas and opportunities for young investigators to present their work. Barkin will begin her yearlong duties at the Pediatric Academic Societies meeting opening on May 3 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
