Pediatric Outreach Medicine
June 8, 2018
In January, 2018, the Department of Pediatrics launched a new division dedicated to Providers who are spreading pediatric care throughout the region. Pediatric Outreach Medicine, led by Kris Rehm, MD, SFHM, is the academic home for providers working in After Hours, Primary Care in Smyrna, Williamson Medical Center, and at the Sumner Regional Medical Center in the Level I NICU. These pediatricians help families receive high quality care closer to home. Dr Rehm describes this new division as "A novel way to bring together clinicians with expertise in the care of children and then spread their expertise across the midstate. There is a national trend in growing communities for large, quaternary care centers like ours to spread our wings and deliver top notch care closer to home."
"I am thrilled to lead this group, and as Vice Chair of outreach to work with leaders from the Children's Hospital in strategic growth in areas such as telemedicine and other progressive ways to help children reaching the highest quality care." - Kris Rehm, MD, SFHM
In future newsletters we will feature individual programs and providers included in the Division of Pediatric Outreach Medicine.
